I first met Erica + Cole back in November when we went all around downtown Toronto for their engagement shoot. It was cold then, so it was definitely going to be colder at their wedding! To be honest, when I first heard that their wedding was going to be in the coldest month of the year in Niagara Falls near all that freezing water, I really didn’t know what to expect. The Falls is usually not a place you go and visit during the winter. Plus winter weddings are already a challenge in itself, no one wants to stay outdoors in just a gown or a tux. Luckily, Erica + Cole’s wedding was taking place at the Hilton where we had access to the entire hotel and all the covered tunnels to the Fallsview casino and shopping area. This meant lots of options with natural light without having to freeze outside in the cold, that definitely kept everyone happy!
So on the first weekend of February I headed down to Niagara Falls to 2nd shoot Erica + Cole’s wedding with Therese. The original plan was to go down the morning of but because of all the snow we’ve been getting it was safer to go the night before and good thing we did because the snow hit hard the next day! This was the view (American Falls) from our hotel room the morning of before the snow hit. It was actually quite beautiful seeing the sun reflect off the icy water of the Falls, I’ve never seen the Falls frozen like that. It was such a different feeling compared to the summer when the Falls are constantly moving with the mist rising above.
After having some tea and breakfast, Therese and I headed over to Erica’s room. Erica had a surprise gift for Cole and had her super cute flower girl deliver it to his room. The funny thing was Cole thought it was one of Erica’s friends or his sisters when he heard a knock at his door, so he jokingly said “Go away, don’t come in” in a deep manly voice. Then to his surprise, when he opens the door, he sees this sweet little girl standing there alone, holding a gift for him. Cole being the sweet guy that he is felt so bad, he immediately gave her a hug and asked her to help him open his gift, I think that made up for it. 🙂Erica got him a Michael Kors watch which we then took him down to Watch It in the Fallsview shopping area to get it sized so that he could wear it right away, it was so thoughtfully planned out.The morning with the guys was pretty relaxed as usual, they had some Timmy’s and then headed back to the room. There was some time to kill so what do you do before you get ready for your wedding? Well in Cole’s case, turn on the TV, watch some Clueless and discuss what really happened to Brittany Murphy lol.
Ok, I’m sure Cole gets lots of compliments all the time since he’s a pilot but I think he looks even better as a groom 🙂Moments before the Reveal or as Erica calls it the “Look See”.Both Cole + Erica was sick on the day of their wedding but you wouldn’t be able to tell from their photos, they rocked it out big time!E: “I feel like Brangelina”, C: “Who?”, E: “You know, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie”, C: “Ohhhhh!” Look at them workin’ it!Mr + Mrs!I really like that H 😉What a wedding these two put together and they did it all in 6 months! All their family and friends pitched in one way or another, they were there to support Erica + Cole every step of the way. It’s so touching to see all the love their family and friends have for them. It’s hard not to want to be there for them, they are one of the most thoughtful couples I have ever met. Here’s to many years of happiness and congrats Cole for finally making the coach’s daughter your wife 😉
