A few days before Siobhan and Manny’s wedding, I met up with them when they got into town. I hadn’t seen them since their engagement shoot we did together during Easter so it was nice to catch up. Alicia (Siobhan’s sister, maid of honour and wedding planner) had everything under control, the final schedule was ready and only a couple final details to finish up. Siobhan and Manny were calm but excited for the day to come and what a beautiful day it was on their wedding day, the sun was out, the rain we’d been having all week was gone, it was amazing for a late fall day.
Unfortunately there were some pretty major hiccups on both the groom (groomsmen with the wrong tux) and bride (hair salon forgetting about their appointment completely) side that morning which pretty much made us disregard the schedule completely for the prep. But hey, what’s a wedding without some delays and stress? The wedding schedule is usually a best case scenario anyway but poor Alicia, I mean it’s not easy being a maid of honour but to be the wedding planner on top of that, she managed to do both amazingly and eventually everyone made it to the gorgeous ceremony and partied their hearts out at the reception in the Arcadian Court.
A really sweet surprise Alicia put on Siobhan’s bouquet, a locket with their father’s photo inside so that he can be with Siobhan on her special day.Just as Siobhan rounds the corner and makes her way down the aisle, Manny’s expression is so sweet it brings me right back to that moment.Siobhan was every bit of elegance that she wanted to be, all her guests couldn’t stop taking photos as she walked towards Manny. After the ceremony we went outside for a quick and romantic stroll for their creative shoot. The cake and cupcakes smelled sooo good! It was hard to photograph them without stealing a bite. The decor that Dina and her team did was stunning, totally transformed the space.Love the little thumbprint logo that they created, really reflects their personalities.Halfway through the reception Siobhan and Manny changed into their Nigerian outfits and when they re-entered the room their guests went wild! They also surprised their guests with African dancers and drummers, everyone got up and danced, there was no way you could sit still while watching them perform and hearing the beats, just amazing!
What a wedding!! Like Alicia said “It was a labour of love!” Siobhan and Manny, it was such an honour to be a part of it all, the morning was stressful but as soon as the ceremony started all I saw was smiles, you guys beamed from ear to ear all through the night and that’s how I can tell if it was a good wedding 😉 I know your honeymoon isn’t for awhile but I want to see lots of pics when you get back from Greece! Eat lots for me but don’t tell your cardio instructor I told you so lol.
