Over the last few months I’ve been asked quite often how I’ve been feeling, if I’m still shooting and if I’ll be getting maternity photos done. Well luckily once I made it past my 1st trimester I’ve been feeling great! Which has allowed me to pretty much shoot like I normally do, sometimes I even forget about my baby bump until I try to squeeze through spaces and realize I have to go around instead lol. My baby seems to understand that I spend most of my days moving around a lot and seems to enjoy it, I think all the moving actually lulls her to sleep because when I lie down at night that’s when she moves around the most. I think we’re going to have a little night owl on our hands!
And although I wanted to get maternity photos done to remember this special time in our lives, I wasn’t sure at first how I would feel about being photographed during the “biggest” point in my life. Let’s face it, what girl/woman doesn’t struggle with their own body image, I’m definitely no exception. However, my hubby has been really sweet and has made me feel really comfortable about myself since I started showing. He actually said he’ll miss my bump once the baby is born so how could I not do a maternity session? Plus I really want our baby to see how excited we are for her to join our family, one day we’ll be able to share these images with her and the stories of our lives leading up to her arrival.
These little pink sandals belong to my sister, she used to wear them when she was a baby. Joee couldn’t resist setting them up with a little bridal shoes flair, so cute! Our baby’s first trip was to Paris which was mine too, in my mom’s belly 🙂I want to thank Joee again for making us (especially me) feel so comfortable in front of the camera and for braving the cold (it was -23 degrees Celsius that day plus wind chill)! We’re so happy with the photos and glad you were the one to document this moment in our lives! After being on the “other side”, I definitely think more than ever how important it is to do maternity photos. You spend so many months (sometimes years) planning for your new addition that sometimes you forget to take the time to remember the moments leading up to the birth of your baby. Now we’ll be able to have these memories forever 🙂 Also, I want to thank Maggie, make-up and hair artist extraordinaire for making me feel all pampered and beautiful!
With that being said, I’ll be taking things slow from now until our baby arrives, then 2 months off when our baby is born to adjust to our new family. I’ll still be checking my emails but I won’t be as prompt as usual, thank you for your patience and understanding in advance.
Now if anyone wants to make some predictions about our baby’s birth date and/or weight for fun, here are some facts:
My due date is February 18th.
At my 31 week ultrasound, our baby was at 1.7kg which is about 3.75lbs.
I was born 2.5 weeks early and just under 7lbs.
Hubby was a scheduled c-section baby and just over 7lbs.
Feel free to leave your predictions in the comments. Can’t wait to see who’s the closes. Happy Guessing! 🙂
