Intimate Vow Renewal at Angus Glen | Featured on Wedding Sparrow

Like many couples, Lauren and Matt were young when they first decided to get married and spend their lives together. Their wedding was simple and intimate, a reflection of them. Though looking back, there were things from their wedding that they had wished was different or had done differently. Honestly though, who hasn’t thought that about their own wedding. One thing that doesn’t change even after all this time, is the importance of family. From the one that you are born with to the one that you create. It is such an integral part of our lives and any marriage, that it became the inspiration for the style of this vow renewal. We wanted the focus to be on our bride and groom, their families and the family that they have built with the two of them. See this inspiration shoot featured on Wedding Sparrow.

In terms of the styling, we wanted the vow renewal to reflect Lauren and Matt’s easy-going personalities, like their wedding, it was to feel simple and intimate but with confidence, to show how they are now and how their relationship has grown over that last decade of being together. Erin of Big Love Wedding Design & Styling Shop, put together this sophisticated palette of ivories, blush, antique gold and dusty blues that inspired all the design elements for the vow renewal.

Post Calligraphy created the most elegant and understated invitations and vow booklets. The calligraphy was like music to the eyes, you can just feel the movement of the letters flowing across the paper, bringing so much meaning to the words that were written.heidilau_vrf_lm-004

Matt looked so sharp in his fitted grey suit and custom bow-tie and pocket square from TYTAN Ties. Guys deserve that extra special touch too. The subtle lace on Matt’s tie played off of the lace on Lauren’s gown.heidilau_vrf_lm-097bheidilau_vrf_lm-020b

For their vow renewal ceremony, it was kept simple and family oriented. Only their nearest and dearest. The focus was on Lauren and Matt and the beautiful natural surroundings.

One of the things that Lauren was really disappointed about for their wedding was how their flowers arrived, completely dishevelled and in loose bunches. Fortunately, she now spends her days surrounded by some of these most amazing floral talents in Toronto at Sweet Woodruff who handcrafted these stunning and lush floral pieces. This bouquet was a work of art.heidilau_vrf_lm-063

Lauren is such a natural beauty and Fiona Man, our talented make-up artist did just enough to enhance her beauty while keeping it very soft, natural and pretty. We finished off her look with this gorgeous delicate headpiece from LUVYT.

And I just love this beautiful lace work on the top of this two-piece Truvelle gown. Such a great idea to have a two-piece look when you want to be able to change up your look from the ceremony to the reception.

We did a family style approach to the reception because we wanted it to be a casual evening. It didn’t need to be as formal as the wedding but still have all the goodies to indulge in like great food, delicious sweets and wine of course.

This family style setup is also a great way to show off some family china you’ve collected but if your collection is too fragile to bring out, you don’t have to worry because Plate Occasions has a large variety of vintage to modern tableware, the options are unless, you’ll probably end up wanting to plan multiple dinners. Their lovely gold trimmed plates and glassware was exactly what our tablescape needed.

Personalized touches are always a good idea. Erin (Big Love Wedding Design & Styling Shop) really knows the best way to add them in.

No meal is complete without dessert and The Cocoa Cakery made sure that everyone’s sweet tooth was covered from a variety of cakes, cookies, cupcakes and meringues. It’s always my favourite course of the meal!

There’s really only so many times in your life when you get to wear a wedding gown, so why not change into a second one. Lauren loved this simply beaded gown by Saja, it fit her beautifully.

The out of city location of Angus Glen with it’s natural surroundings became the perfect location for the vow renewal.

Thank you to the talented and amazing team that brought this all together, bringing meaning and life to intimate life events.
