Heather + Andrew | Wedding, Big Give 2010

This year was Joee‘s 2nd annual Big Give, where Joee and some of his friends from the industry come together to donate their time and talent for a deserving couple. I had the privilege to second shoot at Heather + Andrew’s wedding and after the amazing season I’ve had so far I was really excited to give back and volunteer my time for one of the sweetest and most deserving couples. Definitely check out Joee’s blog to get the full story of the lovely Heather + Andrew.

Heather + Andrew’s wedding took place in Hamilton, so Joee and I got up bright and early for the drive down. As we were driving we heard all kinds of traffic issues allowing the highway but we were lucky enough to avoid it and had a pretty smooth ride over. I started out the morning with the guys at the Sheraton, as I got there Andrew was just getting out of the shower, his groomsmen were joking around and telling me I was in for a treat. You’ll see why in a bit lol.

After a really relaxing morning with the boys and a competitive but tamed round of darts (and some liquid courage) we  headed over to the MacNeill Baptist Church for Heather + Andrew’s intimate ceremony. Heather was absolutely stunning and they were both beaming. The church was completely packed and everyone was so excited for them. Their ceremony was so sweet, they had friends and family take part throughout the ceremony with poems and songs. You could tell that it was really important to them to have their loved ones participate in their special day.So in love! 🙂 They couldn’t keep their hands off each other throughout the creative portrait session. We kept the session not too long so that Heather + Andrew could get to their reception and hang out with their guests. Their reception was held at the beautiful Art Gallery of Hamilton. I’ve always been a fan of receptions held at art galleries, the contemporary feel, being surrounded by inspiring artwork and you’re also given a raw space to work with which in my opinion is the perfect combination. Plus, I absolutely loved the colours Heather chose!Throughout dinner their entire wedding party would be out in the room mingling with the guests, it was really nice to see that they didn’t spend much time at their seats. Heather + Andrew made it a point to speak to each of their guests and they also checked on us throughout the night to make sure we were ok, they treated us like friends instead of vendors which was so sweet of them (and it wasn’t just them, their family and friends too!). I know it was a long process for Joee to select a couple and I’m sure there were a lot of deserving couples but he definitely chose the right one! Heather + Andrew, I’m so glad that I met you two and was able to be part of something so momentous. I have no doubt that you two will keep each other smiling and laughing for many years to come. Congrats again!! 🙂

  • Beautiful photos of a beautiful couple. You really captured the essence of their day. I worked with Heather and Andrew to plan their wedding at the AGH and they were honestly the sweetest couple. I wish them all the best.
