Thanksgiving weekend is over here in Canada and as I’m slowly moving myself out of my food coma, I’m thinking back to how thankful I am for the sweet and amazing family and friends that I have in my life. I know how fortunate I am, especially coming from my family’s humble beginnings. I’ve heard many stories over the years from my parents and relatives about what they and my grandparents had to give up during the war years and moving to new countries with very little on their backs and not speaking the language at all. It was all those sacrifices and bravery from them many years ago that I get to sit here at my computer and talk about the wonderful moments I get with the people in my life.
And with that in mind, I want to share an extra special post today. It’s a little late, ok a lot late (wedding season has been extra busy this year and I’m also truly thankful for that) but it’s never too late to post about lovely ladies like Jacquelyn Clark of Lark and Linen and her feature on Style Me Pretty Living! I’m sure after you’ve looked at the images from her home, you’ll see why she’s so special. She’s just as lovely a person as is her space and not to mention she’s a super talented interior designer as well. It was such a dream to photograph her and her home, every last inch was so thoughtfully decorated that it was hard to narrow down my favourites for this post. And there is another reason why this post is special, Jacquelyn’s talent is evident and it was so exciting when she told me she was starting her own interior design company, Lark and Linen! It was not an easy decision for her to leave the coveted position of Style Me Pretty Living editor but a leap of faith she had to take and I’m so happy she did. It’s always so wonderful to hear about other entrepreneurial women going after their dreams. I’ve always thought “What’s the harm in trying? If you try and you fail, at least you’ve tried!” I rather that then spend a lifetime of wishing and wondering. Jacquelyn, I’m so happy for you that you’re chasing your dreams! I have no doubt that wonderful things are in stored for your future, can’t wait to see your magic touch on all the spaces you’ll inspire!
