Esther + Jason | Engagement

First time I met Esther and Jason, I instantly clicked with them and it’s not just because they were sweet enough to bring me super yummy cupcakes (more on that a little later) but it was something about them, I can’t describe it, it’s more like something you feel. As soon as Esther started talking, there was this warmth and kindness about her that I was so drawn to and the way that Jason was so quiet and attentive to her, I knew I wanted to photograph them. The more we chatted, the more excited I felt. Our first meeting was probably one of my shortest meetings, I think within 30mins they told me they wanted me to photograph their wedding and handed me their deposit! It was awesome, I liked how decisive they were.

Ok, so if you’re wondering about the yummy cupcakes I mentioned before, they were made by Esther herself. Her and Jason own Flour Studio along with her future sister-in-law aka Jason’s sister who does floral design. Esther is the talented baker behind all their beautiful cakes and cute treats. How ingenious is their name? Totally love it! It was only fitting that we did part of their engagement shoot at their studio which is pretty much their baby. As soon as I walked in I could see all the love and thought they have put into the place and couldn’t stop looking at all the fun and colourful decor, stationary, cakes, candies and the list goes on. It was the perfect backdrop!

I asked them what their favourite flavours were and Esther said strawberry and Jason said the salted caramel and/or dark chocolate, I got to try all of those and those were my favourite too!We setup a mini dessert date in the middle of their studio (it was closed that day), it was nice to see them relax and chat with each other. I can tell they don’t normally have a lot of time to do that, the studio keeps them pretty busy. Plus their wedding is coming up super fast so the conversation very naturally went towards wedding planning. How cute is Esther’s dress? I love the green bow!And I can’t get over how sweet they are together 🙂And yes, those are red velvet, you have to try them…soooo good!It was such a beautiful day, we had to take advantage of the sun. We were finally getting some warm weather.I love the way Jason looks at Esther! Can’t wait to see the look on his face when he sees Esther in her wedding gown for the first time.Esther and Jason’s wedding is this Friday! I can’t wait to see their vision and hard work all come together, it’s going to be amazing!
