Chic and sophisticated restaurant wedding at Boehmer, Toronto | Featured on Style Me Pretty

It’s hard to imagine how hot this past summer was now that we’re fully in the cooler parts of Autumn, only weeks away from the holiday season. However, I remember it like it was yesterday, mainly because of the heatwave that hit right on Shelley and Bjorn’s wedding day. Let’s just say that wearing long black pants was not my best decision but I honestly didn’t even notice until the next day when I saw the tan line around my ankles (oops). Shelley and Bjorn are one of those couples that are so effortlessly in love with each other with equally effortless style, that you lose yourself in their sweet ways. Every hopeless romantic’s dream come true. There was so much from this wedding that I loved and am so pleased to see it featured on Style Me Pretty today, so sit back and enjoy, get to know these two love birds a little more.

Shelley and Bjorn had chosen a palette of neutrals, lots of creams with bits of blush and gold accents. A really classic and timeless colour palette that really complimented them and their venue. They kept all their details very simple but impactful, like the beautiful invitation suite from Lucky Penny Paperie.

To keep with the simple theme they had for their wedding, they kept their wedding party very intimate, one on each side and it was perfect. The ladies had an easy and relaxing morning getting beautified by the talented Vanessa Jarman at the sophisticated Shangri-La hotel.

One of my favourite less traditional wedding traditions is having a “first look” or reveal. And Shelley and Bjorn didn’t disappoint, their reactions were so heartfelt and genuine, it was such an honour to photograph it. It was such a sweet moment that they could have privately before we headed out for their portraits with the rest of the wedding party.

Ok, so Becky and her ladies at Blush and Bloom are pretty darn amazing. Wait till you see the floral magic that they create for this wedding. I mean look at those bouquets! Love!

This Blush and Bloom garland was stunning (and the roses smelled amazing), it perfectly encircled them during the ceremony. Then afterwards was draped over the head table, a reminder of the commit they made earlier that day, all throughout the night.

A truly wonderful wedding is not possible without all the behind-the-scenes people, not only did Shelley and Bjorn have such kind, sweet and funny (oh their speeches that night had everyone crying from laughing so hard) family and friends supporting them, they also had Erin with Big Love Weddings design their wedding. Erin helped them execute all the little details and major components flawlessly, we always love working with her! And the food and service at Boehmer was incredible, all the guests were always well fed and hydrated. The atmosphere at Boehmer was exactly what Shelley and Bjorn had envisioned for their wedding day, full of great food, music, and an easy lighthearted ambiance for their closest family and friends. And when Shelley and Bjorn said that they wouldn’t change a thing from their wedding, I would totally agree!
