Karen + James | Engaged

James decided to propose to Karen on their anniversary, he took her to harbourfront and gave her an empty Marble Slab (her fave) container that had a note on the back of a photo of them as her present. The Marble Slab and the note was suppose to be a temporary distraction to give James a chance to get down on one knee but it became a bigger distraction then he initially intended! Karen was so distracted that the container was empty, that she didn’t notice James on his knee. When James finally popped the question Karen was so surprised, “Are you serious?!” she said, of course she said yes afterwards. To this day they still joke about how it’s so Karen to say something like that. So for their engagement shoot, we decided to go back to where it all happened. And just like the day they got engaged, they had to have some ice cream (to celebrate)! Mmm pistachio;)I wonder what kind of desserts and sweet treats will be at their wedding this summer!

Janet + Ian | Engaged

My first impression of Janet and Ian was they are so super nice and extremely considerate. They were telling me their wedding plans and I noticed they were constantly putting other people’s needs before theirs. I mean it’s their wedding and they were concerned about others instead of themselves! They are such a genuinely nice couple and I was really looking forward to seeing them again, it had been awhile since our last meeting. We decided to go to their old stomping grounds at University of Toronto campus for the engagement shoot. Although they went to the same high school, U of T was where their love story began! We walked all around campus and they showed me all their favourite spots and reminisced about their days there. They said they were nervous at first but they quickly got the hang of it, I think at times they even forgot I was there snapping away. After the shoot we went for lunch to catch up some more, we wanted to go for sushi but they weren’t ready for lunch service for another half hour. Too bad, we headed across the street for some yummy Thai food instead. It always a great time when there’s a couple so happily in love and delicious food! Only 3 more months until their big day:)

Alessia + Christian | Wedding

Last April I had the pleasure of assisting Claudia at Alessia + Christian’s elegant Italian wedding. The day started out gloomy and chilly but as luck would have it, once it was time for the ceremony the sun came out and we were treated to an atypical warm and sunny spring day in April. It was such a heartwarming wedding day filled with lots of emotions, tons of guests and of course lots of yummy food! Here are some of my favourites from their wedding day.Happy 1st anniversary Alessia + Christian!:)

Marcella + Jim | Engagement

Marcella and Jim kick started my engagement sessions this year! Originally I wasn’t planning to get back to “work” so soon (been taking some time off to be with my baby) but the cherry blossoms bloomed extra early this year since they got tricked by the weird weather we’ve been having. Marcella really wanted to have cherry blossoms as their backdrop for their engagement shoot and I was itching to shoot outdoors again anyway, so we got together at High Park on what turned out to be a beautiful sunny Friday morning. The scarf that Marcella was wearing was the first gift that Jim ever gave her and she wanted to wear it again for their shoot, I thought that was really sweet. These two are kids at heart:)After the shoot, we went for lunch at a Pho place, the perfect end to a really fun morning!

Ramon from RC2 Films was there with us too to capture their Love Story. Can’t wait for the fun to continue at their wedding this October!

Baby Emma | 4 Months

A couple years ago, I photographed Doug and Jen’s engagement and then last year we heard the wonderful news that they were expecting a baby! We were so excited for them, plus it meant more friends and play dates for our little girl Kali.

At the end of November, they welcomed their baby girl Emma into the world! And this past weekend they invited me into their home to photograph their cutie and to do some relaxed family portraits. It was great to catch up with them and to share battle stories of being new parents lol.

Emma’s smiles and giggles were infectious, no one could resist them and we were all laughing along with her.

This was the first time Emma’s wearing a dress, she was fully intrigued by it! We could barely get her to look up hehe.

Seriously, just try to say no to this face, too cute! She’s like a little flowery pancake here:)

What a fun Easter Sunday afternoon! Excited for our next shoot in a couples month:)

Thanks to Eric for coming out and assisting.
