Is it just me or did September sneak up on everyone else too? Although, I’m not exactly ready for summer to be over yet, I don’t mind that it’s September which is my favourite month of the year. Mainly because I love the fall weather, sweaters and scarves! It also reminded me of this really special anniversary shoot from last fall at the stunning Niagara Gorge that seems perfect to start off September with. It was also featured on the beautiful Magnolia Rouge.
Tara and Jeremy were celebrating their 5 year wedding anniversary last year and wanted somewhere special and meaningful for their shoot. We decided that the beautiful Niagara Gorge would be the perfect place for them since they grew up in Niagara Falls and spent a lot of time in that area. It gave them an excuse to go back home to visit family and drive by Niagara-on-the-lake where they had their wedding.
They knew the area so well that even hiking in a long dress was not an issue. We started at the top and hiked down to the bottom of the gorge where the rapids were and could see how it divided the Canadian and American side of Niagara Falls. It was the perfect day, with really nice weather and gorgeous light.
The scenery at Niagara Gorge was really breathtaking! I also loved how the area was really meaningful to Tara and Jeremy. All the way down they were sharing stories and fond memories which made it extra special. I really do need to go back again sometime and just spend a lazy afternoon by the water.
It’s not every day we get a view like that, especially with such a variety in fall colours too.
They are such an amazing couple and this anniversary shoot will always be near and dear to my heart.
